The leader of the Belarusian opposition is not in his house in Minsk.
Belarusian opposition leader Nikoli Statkevich is not at home in Minsk, and his whereabouts are still unknown, former political prisoner Sergei Martselev said on Facebook with reference to a conversation with Statkevich's wife Marina Adamovich.
"According to the wife of political prisoner Marina Adamovich, Statkevich is not at home and she does not know his whereabouts. I was hoping that the authorities would give him the opportunity to live at liberty in Minsk, albeit under police supervision. So far, the circumstances indicate that Nikolai Viktorovich has been arrested again.
Although formally there is nothing to "close" him for - 52 prisoners were pardoned by Lukashenko. The procedure of pardon, as far as I know, does not provide for a reverse procedural action," wrote Martselev.
He noted that Statkevich "has always been able to break the template of the authorities' scenarios. The situation reminds Martselev of the preventive arrest of the politician on the eve of the "March of no-non-employees" in 2017, when Statkevich was held in the KGB detention center for three days without explanation, while propaganda claimed that he was "sitting somewhere."
The Narodnaya Gramada party urged to take immediate measures to establish the politician's whereabouts.
We'll remind you that on September 11, Lukashenko's regime released and expelled 52 prisoners from the country. Nikolai Statkevich became the only one of this group, who did not cross the border of Belarus and Lithuania. For some time, the politician could be seen on the images from the cameras at the border, but then he was taken away by masked men in an unknown direction. At the moment it is unknown where exactly Statkevich is, what his legal status is and what will happen to him next.
