A week at least.

Latvia bans flights over the border with Russia and Belarus for at least a week. The Baltic country's Defense Minister Andris Spruds said this at a press conference today, writes lsm.lv.

The airspace area near the border with Belarus and Russia has been closed on the recommendation of Latvia's National Armed Forces (NAF) after a risk assessment.

Spruds noted that Wednesday's events in Poland are a clear violation of NATO airspace, and Latvia should act accordingly. Although there is no direct threat to Latvia now, preventive measures are necessary.
