Sikorski: NATO's Response Will Make Putin Realize The Mistake

The drone incident is a test not only for Poland.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski hopes that NATO's response to the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones will stop Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin from further escalation.
This was his opinion Thursday morning in an interview with RMF FM.
In response to a question about whether September 10, 2025, the date of multiple violations of Polish airspace by Russia, would be a "historic event," Sikorski said he hoped it would not be.
"Let us hope that NATO's united response and the strengthening of our capabilities will make Putin realize that he has made a mistake and refuse to escalate," Sikorski said.
He said the drone incident was clearly not an accident, but a test by Russia of the entire NATO.
"This is a test not only for Poland. It is a test for the whole NATO, and not only military, but also political," Sikorski assessed.
