Stubb will hold important talks with Zelensky.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb arrived on Thursday on a visit to Ukraine.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andrei Sibiga announced this on social network X, writes "European Pravda".
Sibiga said he met the Finnish leader at the train station in Kiev together with the head of the OPU Andriy Yermak.
The foreign minister said Stubb would hold important talks with President Vladimir Zelensky on European security and integration, transatlantic pressure on Russia and steps towards lasting peace.
"We are grateful to Finland for its continued support, leadership in the OSCE and principled stance. We appreciate the personal efforts and dedication of President Stubb," the minister commented.
The Finnish President's Office noted that Stubb in Kiev will discuss with Zelensky the current situation in Ukraine, efforts to end Russia's illegal war of conquest and Finland's support for Ukraine. It recalled that Finland is working as part of a "coalition of the determined" and is involved in the preparation of security measures that are being developed.
Alexander Stubb is personally very actively involved in contacts between European leaders and U.S. President Donald Trump on resolving the Russia-Ukraine war. In particular, he was among those who visited Washington with Vladimir Zelensky on August 18, after Trump met with Kremlin host Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Stubb has previously stated that Russia is employing its typical negotiating tactics, demanding the impossible.
He has also expressed hope that U.S. President Donald Trump's patience with Russia will run out.
