Belarus Introduces Changes In Electricity Tariffs

Who will be affected by the innovations.

In October, Belarus will introduce some changes in payment for electricity consumption. Thus, people, who have squares in a new building, will be billed for electricity at subsidized rates for three months after its commissioning.

For non-residential premises there will be an opportunity to get differentiated payment by time of day, choosing a two-zone or three-zone tariff. But there is an important nuance - the presence of a contract for electricity supply.

The changes are also provided for garden and dacha cooperatives. The head of Belenergo energy sales department Alexander Lazarevich told STV the details:

- Everyone has the right to live and move around our country wherever he or she sees fit. Many people have dachas, gardening associations, i.e. houses. They live there in summer and move to their apartments in Minsk in winter. It turns out that a person, who has a benefit in Minsk, can not have this benefit for three or four months, living in a gardening community. Therefore, in this case, due to the appeals of citizens, their desire, such a norm appeared, which today allows them to register at the place of residence (in a gardening community or dacha cooperative society) and have this benefit.

We remind you that from October 1, an innovation for those who have fallen into the database of "deadbeats" will also be introduced: from next month, in situations where the homeowner falls into the number of "dependents," all the costs for heating, hot water and gas will be calculated at economically justified rates.
