German Defense Minister: Russian Federation Deliberately Sent Drones To Poland From The Territory Of Belarus

The German Bundestag discussed the incursion of Russian drones into Poland. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) stressed that in the case of the Russian UAVs, one cannot speak of an accident. "We are talking about 19 drones that were launched from the territory of Belarus," he said in response to questions from lawmakers. "There is absolutely no reason to think that we are talking about a course correction, a mistake or something like that," Pistorius noted. - These drones were clearly directed exactly along this route." The minister emphasized that they did not need to fly this route at all to strike Ukraine.

In addition, the drones were armed. "According to statements from Poland, they were also supplied with ammunition," the Bundeswehr chief clarified. - That is, something serious could have happened at any moment."

Pistorius added that for two years now there has been talk of constant Russian provocations: in the airspace of the Baltic States, in the Baltic Sea, underwater and through hybrid attacks in Central Europe. Germany supports Poland's position on Article 4 consultations.
