US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Whitkoff will visit Moscow on Sunday. The visit may yield certain results.

The U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said this in an interview with WHO13.

The diplomat said Ukraine and Russia should agree to a peace agreement and "just stop the killing."

He noted that thousands of soldiers are killed on the battlefield every week, and hundreds of citizens - ordinary people in Ukraine - are killed or wounded in nighttime attacks.

"Ambassador Whitkoff's visit to Moscow this weekend will probably yield some results," Whitaker said.

Trump's deadline for Russia

U.S. President Donald Trump on July 29 reduced to 10 days the deadline for Russia to reach peace with Ukraine. The new deadline expires on August 8.
