The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said that he discussed with Trump's special envoy.
The US is not forcing Ukraine to cede its territories to Russia in exchange for peace. There is no pressure from Washington.
As RBC-Ukraine reports, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said this at an online briefing for journalists.
Yermak noted that he was satisfied with today's meeting with the US President's Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Whitkoff in New York.
"It is very important to stop all talks at once - no one from the American side is pressuring Ukraine on any territories," the head of the OP emphasized.
Yermak reminded that he and other Ukrainian officials had visited Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and Turkey in recent days. All countries are ready to accept negotiations between Ukraine and Russia at the level of leaders. Only Russia is not ready for such a dialog.
He said he discussed with Whitkoff the work on security guarantees for Ukraine. The special representative of the US president confirmed that his country is ready for direct guarantees for Ukraine, which would be analogous to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.
Yermak said that Ukraine works every day with national security advisers of its partners. Now they are discussing a large number of options for security guarantees that can give Ukraine confidence that aggression will not happen again.
Also, he and Whitkoff separately spelled out that if no timeline for a leaders' meeting is seen, the administration of US President Donald Trump will return to the issue of sanctions against Russia.
"So that there is no manipulation - no pressure from the Americans on us on some territories, etc., I personally have not heard anything like that," he added.
