Turkey Cuts All Trade And Economic Ties With Israel

Turkey has decided to cut all trade and economic ties with Israel. Ankara has closed its ports to Israeli ships and its airspace to airplanes.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the announcement, Anadolu reported.

Fidan said the moves were in response to Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip, as well as strikes on Syria, Yemen and Lebanon.

He said Turkey has halted all trade with Israel, closed its airspace to Israeli planes and does not allow Turkish ships to enter Israeli ports.

Turkish ports are also banned for container ships carrying arms and ammunition for Israel.

"With the participation of 52 countries, we have launched a significant international initiative at the UN calling for an end to the supply of arms and ammunition that feeds Israel's war machine," the minister said.

The Turkish foreign minister called the Israeli government "racist" and the military operation against Hamas in Gaza "genocide."

Fidan also accused Israel of expanding its occupation of the Golan Heights and attacks on Syrian territory, including strikes on Damascus.
