US President Donald Trump did not use foundation while signing executive orders in the Oval Office on Monday, showing off a dark bruise on the wrist of his right hand. The same bruise was visible later during a White House reception for South Korean counterpart Lee Jae-myung. This was pointed out by The Independent.

While speaking to reporters, Trump covered the bruise with his left hand, but it is visible in some footage.

The publication notes that the situation around Trump's bruise has sparked speculation among users online. Some have speculated that such a bruise could have been left by an intravenous drip, which could indicate that Trump received medical attention. Others suggested that it could be the result of frequent medical procedures, such as collecting blood for regular tests.

The previous time a large black and blue spot on the president's arm was spotted on August 22, it was covered up with foundation. The photo, which was revealed by The Daily Beast, does not show the bruise, but Trump's hand is covered in a thick layer of cream on it. The publication wrote that the 79-year-old president has repeatedly had to cover up bruises on his right arm with cosmetics since taking office again.

The White House and Trump's personal physician Shawn Barabarella say the president is in "excellent health" and the bruise on his arm is the result of frequent handshakes and taking aspirin.

"This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation due to frequent handshaking and aspirin ingestion, which is taken as part of a standard regimen for the prevention of cardiovascular disease," Trump's doctor said, adding that such bruising is a well-known and harmless side effect of aspirin therapy.

In July, during a press conference, White House press secretary White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said doctors had performed a bilateral ultrasound of the president's lower extremities that revealed chronic venous insufficiency. She added that it is a "common condition" among people over 70 and "there is no evidence" of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.

In April, the White House released the results of Trump's physical exam. Medics deemed Trump fit to serve as president. He passed a cognitive test with the highest possible score. The report said Trump currently uses only cholesterol control medication, aspirin for "cardiac prophylaxis" and mometasone cream to treat skin conditions.

The president was then diagnosed with "well-managed" actinic keratosis, which without treatment can transform into skin cancer.
