Ukrainian attack drones hit two important facilities of the Russian regime on the night of August 24.
As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported, the sea terminal of the port of Ust-Luga - Russia's key logistics hub on the Baltic - and an oil refinery in Syzran, which works to support the war, were "hit." Also "hit" were logistics and combat supply facilities of the Russian army in Voronezh and Belgorod regions.
Ust-Luga: a strike on the port
According to the General Staff, on the night of August 24, drones of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine attacked the Ust-Luga marine terminal. The target was hit successfully, fire was observed.
- According to preliminary data, a gas condensate fractionation and transshipment facility was hit. The facility's capacity is up to 6.9 million tons of raw materials per year," the report said.
The General Staff added that Ust-Luga is a key hub for Russian logistics in the Baltic region. It is used to circumvent sanctions - exporting oil and gas through tankers of the so-called "shadow fleet".
Syzran: goodbye, refinery
The Russian refinery in Syzran, Samara Region, was attacked on the night of August 24 by units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the Unmanned Systems Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The strike successfully hit the target - hits, fires and detonation were recorded.
- The Syzran refinery has a design capacity of up to 8.5 million tons of oil per year, which is about 3.08% of the total refining volume in Russia. The enterprise specializes in the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and other petroleum products, which are supplied to the occupation troops of the Russian Federation," the General Staff noted.
According to the General Staff, units of the AFU Special Operations Forces have also destroyed and damaged a number of important Russian logistics facilities in Russia's near rear - in Belgorod and Voronezh regions.
- The results of the defeats are being specified. The defense forces continue to take measures to undermine the offensive potential of the Russian invaders, complicate the supply of fuel and ammunition to the military units of the occupants and force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine," the statement said.
