CNN: Russia Urgently Removes Gasoline From Belarus

There is a fuel shortage in the country.

Due to the increase in the number of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries in Russia, gasoline prices have risen to a record high. About it writes CNN.

The publication noted that Ukraine is focusing its attacks on refineries, pumping stations and fuel trains, trying to damage the Russian military machine and disrupt daily life in the country. It has been noted that demand for gasoline is highest among Russian drivers and farmers in the summer.

CNN reported that Ukrainian drones have attacked at least ten key Russian energy facilities this month alone.

"And this strategy seems to be working. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the oil refineries hit amount to more than 44 million tons of production a year, more than 10 percent of Russia's capacity," the publication recalled.

One of the targets was the huge Lukoil refinery in Volgograd, which is the largest in southern Russia.

"CNN has located clouds of smoke rising above the plant, which was attacked in the early morning hours of August 14. The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged damage to the plant, which was attacked again on August 19," the piece added.

At the same time, Ukraine's foreign intelligence service said that Russian companies were urgently buying gasoline from Belarus to solve a domestic shortage.

Ukraine is also trying to prevent Russian oil exports as well. Last week, Ukrainian drones attacked the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, two EU countries whose governments have good relations with Moscow.

In turn, analysts believe that thousands of Russian gas stations will not be left without fuel, but noted that supply disruptions will worsen the high inflation rate and lead to an extension of the ban on gasoline exports until the fall.
