Trump: Zelensky And Putin Are In The Process Of Organizing A Meeting

The meeting could lead to broader talks involving the U.S.

US President Donald Trump has said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin are in the process of arranging a bilateral meeting.

This is reported by Sky News.

Trump believes a meeting between Zelensky and Trump is necessary after he met with both of them separately.

"They are in the process of arranging a meeting, but we have to stop the killings, there are too many. I've saved hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people, it's a good feeling," Trump added.

Trump says his efforts to bring peace to Ukraine are "more instinctive than thoughtful." However, he said he is "a little optimistic" about peace efforts but says, "It's complicated."

The U.S. leader initially proposed a trilateral summit, but changed his rhetoric after the Alaska talks and pushed for a bilateral format. At the same time, he did not rule out that such a meeting could also lead to broader talks with US participation in the future.
