Medvedev said "some very bad things."
US nuclear boats are already closer to Russia. This was in response to nuclear threats made by the deputy head of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev.
This was reported by US President Donald Trump in an interview with Newsmax.
Trump said Medvedev said "some very bad things" when talking about nuclear weapons.
"And when you mention the word 'nuclear,' you know, my eyes light up, and I say, 'We better be careful,' because that's the highest threat," the U.S. president emphasized.
The US leader added that the US should always be prepared, so he sent two nuclear submarines to the region.
"I just want to make sure that his words are just words and nothing else," Trump said.
The US president was asked if the submarines are closer to Russia. He replied, "They are closer to Russia. Yes, they are closer to Russia."
