The French president had harsh words for the Russian dictator.

French President Emmanuel Macron said Russia has become a constant destabilizing force and a potential threat to many countries in Europe. He urged Europeans not to be naive about the Kremlin and said the next two weeks are critical to determine Ukraine's security guarantees.

According to Le Figaro, Macron characterized Russian President Vladimir Putin as "a predator, a cannibal at our gates" who must continue to feed for his own survival in an interview with LCI television on Tuesday.

"Therefore, including for his own survival, he needs to keep eating. That's it. And that's why it's a predator, it's an ogre at our gates. I am not saying that tomorrow it will attack France, but at the end of the day it is a threat to Europeans (...) We must not be naïve," he explained.

The French leader emphasized that since 2007-2008 Putin has rarely stuck to his promises, constantly seeking to change borders and expand power.

He also noted that Russia spends about 40 percent of its budget on armaments and has an army of more than 1.3 million military personnel, indicating a lack of readiness for peace or an open democratic order. He also emphasized that this does not mean an immediate threat to France, but the Kremlin's policies pose a constant risk to all of Europe.
