Russia must end the war it started.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky responded to US President Donald Trump saying that Ukraine will not be able to return Crimea, but Kiev can "almost immediately" end the war started by aggressor country Russia.
Zelensky said in a post on Telegram that Ukraine should not have given up Crimea in 2014, but should have fought for it just as it will fight for Kiev, Odessa and Kharkiv in 2022.
"We all equally want to end this war quickly and reliably. And the peace must be lasting. Not as it was years ago, when Ukraine was forced to give up Crimea and part of our East - part of Donbass - and Putin used it simply as a springboard for a new attack," the Ukrainian president wrote.
Zelensky said that "Russia must end the war that it itself started." A joint force with the US and Europe should force Moscow to a real peace, the Ukrainian president added.
