There were several hits.

On the night of Thursday, August 14, the Russian city of Volgograd was again attacked by drones. Local residents reported explosions and air defense work, followed by a fire with smoke. According to them, the fire broke out at a local oil refinery (refinery). This was later confirmed by local authorities, writes OBOZ.UA.

The refinery in question is the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery in the city's Krasnoarmeysky district. Russians published footage of the aftermath of the attack online.

The refinery

Locals wrote about several drone hits on the Lukoil refinery in Volgograd.

The authorities soon recognized "fire and leakage of oil products" at the refinery. Governor Andrei Bocharov said it was due to falling UAV debris after the attack.

"Tonight, Russian Defense Ministry air defense forces repelled a massive UAV attack on the territory of the Volgograd region. As a result of falling debris there was a spill and fire of oil products at the Volgograd refinery. Firefighting services promptly started firefighting. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties," he said.

It should be noted that the Volgograd airport has imposed temporary restrictions on aircraft reception and release.

NASA satellites have detected a large-scale fire at the LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery. And Telegram channel Exilenova+ published footage that confirms the Russian refinery was hit.
