Belarus' defense minister threatens Warsaw with a "response."

Poland has decided to create a grouping of 30-34 thousand troops, Minsk is alarmed by this decision. This is reported by BelTA agency with reference to the country's Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin.

"The decision of the Polish military and political leadership is most alarming: they want to create a grouping of more than 30-34 thousand troops. This is already a serious grouping, according to our assessment. This should be closely watched and reacted to," he told reporters.

Khrenin noted that the leadership of NATO countries is trying to use the Russian-Belarusian Zapad-2025 exercises as an excuse to conduct their own exercises. "If they show any aggression, we have something to respond," he said.

The Zapad-2025 joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia will be held from September 12 to 16. Invitations to some stages of the exercise have been sent to other states and international organizations, including the CSTO, CIS and SCO.

The exercise is the main stage of training of the armies of Russia and Belarus this year. They are held every two years alternately on the territory of both countries.

In early August, it became known that the first train with Russian servicemen and equipment had already arrived in Belarus to prepare for the joint exercises. Earlier, Khrenin said that the main maneuvers "Zapad-2025" will be moved from the western borders to the interior of the republic in order to reduce tension in the region.
