But feels it is necessary to "try".

Donald Trump is not sure of the success of the upcoming talks with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, but considers it necessary to "try". This was stated by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview with Fox News.

According to Vance, the head of state told him, "Maybe it will work. Maybe it won't. But it's worth a try." The vice president added that the agreement on this meeting was "a breakthrough for American diplomacy."

He also noted that he did not consider the idea of holding talks between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky before the meeting between the Russian and US presidents to be productive. He added, however, that Washington continues to hold a dialog with Kiev, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio taking part in it, among others.

According to CNN, the Ukrainian president may visit Alaska during the days of the talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Sources say he may attend some of the summit events, but only after the U.S. and Russian leaders meet.
