The dictator fears the collapse of the economy.
A "military mobilization" is needed to keep the Belarusian economy from collapse. This was stated by Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions of Belarus on July 31.
"This and future years will be very difficult and tense. Therefore, I warn all those present, first of all, officials dealing with the economy. Do not be discouraged, but the pressure and demands will only increase. Not only during the war and in times of war one has to mobilize, but also in peacetime," said the ruler.
Lukashenko then spoke about the sanctions, which, according to him, "do not affect the economy of Belarus." The dictator urged to "ignore them," but devoted half of his speech to them.
