Medvedev, Egged On By Trump, Threw A Tantrum On Social Media

Wrote about the "dead hand."

Russian Deputy Security Council chief Dmitri Medvedev has engaged in a public polemic with U.S. President Donald Trump following his statement about Russia and India's "dead economy" and his warning to Medvedev that he should "watch his words".

In his Telegram channel, the deputy chairman of the Security Council called the words of Trump, whom he characterized as "a whole so formidable president of the United States," a "nervous reaction," and said such a reaction shows that Russia is right. "And about the 'dead economy' of India and Russia and 'entering dangerous territory' - well, let him remember his favorite movies about 'The Walking Dead' and how dangerous a non-existent 'dead hand' can be," Medvedev wrote.

"Dead Hand," as the Soviet and Russian Perimeter system is called in the West, is an automated system for controlling a massive retaliatory nuclear strike. It is designed for a guaranteed retaliatory attack with the use of nuclear weapons even in the scenario of complete destruction of the country's top military leadership and communication systems (the Kazbek device and the communication line of the Strategic Missile Forces).

Medvedev reacted in this way to Trump's previous statement against him. The White House chief, who announced the day before that he had shortened his ultimatum to the Kremlin from 50 days to 10 days, wrote in Truth Social that "the failed former Russian president is entering dangerous territory." Trump was referring to Medvedev's previous post in X, where he threatened the U.S. with war and demanded not to speak to Russia in "the language of ultimatums."

Trump's conditions imply that Washington, if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to end the war in Ukraine within 10 days, will impose 100 percent duties on countries that buy Russian oil to cut Russia out of the global black gold market.
