Trump: Putin Has Not Responded In Any Way To My Deadline For Peace With Ukraine

The US president said "it's a disgrace".

US leader Donald Trump is disappointed that he has so far received no response from Russia to his new deadline for a peace deal with Ukraine.

Trump said this in an interview with reporters.

He said new duties designed to isolate the Russian economy would take effect in 10 days, but the US president said he had received no response from the Kremlin on the matter.

"I haven't gotten any response from Putin. It's a disgrace. I told you that 5,000 people were dying every week. Now it is already 7 thousand. [...] Bombs are falling on people. It's a terrible war," Trump emphasized.

At the same time, he said he was not concerned about the markets' reaction to the potential imposition of new sanctions against Russia.

"No, I'm not concerned. We have so much oil in our country. We will increase oil production," the U.S. president added.
