Belarusians are among them.
Polish security services have detained 32 people suspected of cooperating with Russian intelligence, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said. "Among them are Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians and a Colombian citizen. The list does not end there," Tusk said, opening a cabinet meeting.
He said the detainees were instructed by their handlers from Moscow to carry out "either subversive acts or beatings" in the country. One of them has already been convicted and the others are awaiting trial, Polski Radio reported.
The Polish prime minister said he had instructed that "even more intensive and vigorous action" be taken to prevent the "Anyone who destabilizes the Polish state or tries to destabilize the situation on the borders is, directly or indirectly, an accomplice of the Russian services. And that is why we will act ruthlessly," Tusk emphasized.
Poland has previously repeatedly accused Moscow of Russian intelligence activities inside the country. Warsaw noted that its role in supplying weapons to Ukraine made the country a target for spies and saboteurs from Russia.
