Lithuanian Army Commander: Perhaps The Information About The Drone From Belarus Is A Fake

All leads are checked.
Information about a drone that flew into Lithuania may be invalid, Lithuanian Commander Raimundas Vaikschnoras said. He said all possible options are being checked, including the version that no object flew into Lithuania, writes Delfi.
"Other versions are also being checked - whether the drone is in Lithuania or maybe it was a fake," Vaikschnoras told LRT on July 29. "Maybe no object flew into Lithuania at all," he continued.
The commander said the videos circulating on social media on July 28 could have been filmed in Ukraine. "So far, a survey of residents who were the first to see, hear or notice something and report it to the One-Stop Help Center (...) is being conducted. To date, the impression is that the majority did not see anything, but heard something. And what was submitted in the form of video recordings is also quite ambiguous information, we have suspicions that the video was made in Ukraine," said Vaikshnoras.
On July 28 morning Lithuanian police informed Lithuanian residents that a drone of undetermined type had flown in from Belarus. Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Šakalene said that morning that it was possible that it could have been an accidentally flown drone that was headed for Ukraine. Such incidents are possible in the future, she said. The Foreign Ministry has requested information on whether the drone could be a combat drone. If such information is confirmed, the Belarusian ambassador will be handed a note.
July 10, a drone "Gerbera" has already flown into Lithuania from Belarus. According to the services, it posed no danger. An investigation into the incident is underway.
