Erdogan Says Turkey Will Set 'peace Table'

The Turkish leader expressed hope that the bloody war between Russia and Ukraine would end in the near future.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed hope that in the future Turkey will set the "peace table" and Russia's war in Ukraine will end. His words were quoted by TRT Haber.

"We believe that this war should end now. I emphasize at every opportunity our readiness to hold a meeting at the level of leaders. Turkey sincerely hopes, dear friends, that just as the negotiating table was set in Istanbul, in the not too distant future, a peace table will also be set in Turkey and this bloody war will end," Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader noted that Ankara has followed a "balanced, fair and peace-loving policy" since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. "The grain corridor agreement, the prisoner exchange and the talks held in cities such as Istanbul and Antalya are the result of our belief in peace," he emphasized.
