Forest fires have been raging in Turkey for several days. Since July 25, they have reached the province of Antalya, where there are many resorts popular with tourists. On the morning of July 27, Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli spoke at a press conference, where he said most of the fires had been brought under control, with some continuing. He said 84 wildfires have been extinguished across the country in the past 24 hours, including 36 forest fires. "It looks like the situation will not stop in two or three days," the minister said and urged fellow citizens not to light fires in nature.

The official said fires near the town of Silifke in the seaside province of Mersin, as well as near the town of Serik in Antalya province, had been brought under control. Firefighting continues in the seaside town of Gazipasa in Antalya province. New fires broke out in the seaside province of Bursa south of Istanbul, as well as in several regions far from the sea.

The minister noted that now even a small wind can fan a large fire, as the country has established extreme heat. In Antalya - up to +35 ° C in the afternoon, wind speed - up to 27 km / h. In some parts of Turkey recorded up to +50 ° C.
