  • 27.07.2025, 14:49

About 100 flights have been delayed.

Russia introduced the "Cover" plan in the Leningrad Region on July 27 due to the threat of UAV attacks. The Pulkovo airport did not accept or release airplanes, writes OBOZ.UA.

More than a hundred flights were delayed. This was reported in "Rosaviatsia" and in the Russian media.

What is known

The introduction of restrictions in "Pulkovo" in the press service of the airport announced at 07:29.

"Temporary restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft have been introduced. The restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety," the message reads.

Rosaviatsia specified: the reason for the restrictions was "the threat of UAV attacks": at that time, residents of the Leningrad region complained of "sounds of explosions in the sky" and reported "the work of air defense systems."

Russian propagandists scrupulously counted the number of delayed departures/landings: according to one Russian media outlet, the restrictions led to the delay of more than 100 flights.

As of 11:00 a.m., Pulkovo claimed that "22 flights were sent to alternate airfields, 57 flights were delayed in departure."

"Flight registrations have been suspended in the terminal, and passengers' access to the clear zone has been restricted. In this regard, we kindly ask passengers of canceled flights, as well as those meeting and seeing off, to leave the building of Pulkovo airport terminal," the airport administration said.

About 5 minutes later, Rosaviatsia said the restrictions had been lifted.

In addition to the Leningrad region, the "Cover" plan was announced this morning at airports in Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga and Volgograd.
