Estonia is sounding the alarm.
Russia has deployed its electronic warfare systems in close proximity to the border with Estonia. This is causing concern in the Baltic states.
Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro said this, according to Bloomberg.
According to Estonian authorities, the Russian army has delivered additional equipment to jam radio signals near Kingisepp, a town about 20 kilometers from the Estonian border.
The country's internal security agency has been in contact with the Russian military about this development.
The Russian Defense Ministry, meanwhile, has not yet commented on this information.
It is noted that such equipment has been used on the battlefield in Ukraine to intercept the navigation signals of drones. However, electronic warfare also causes serious interference with the Global Positioning System, or GPS, which is used by commercial aircraft and ships.
