Potatoes In Belarus Tripled In Price

In just a year and a half.

Potatoes have become 2.99 times more expensive in Belarus over the past year and a half, while the overall growth of prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages by 13.38%, according to the analysis of data of the National Statistics Committee, conducted by "Pozirkam".

In 2024, potato prices rose by 31.17% (in general for food and non-alcoholic beverages - by 5.90%), in the first half of 2025 - by 127.80%, or 2.28 times (by 7.06%).

In June 2025, potatoes rose in price by 35.40% - second place after beets (+35.92%). At the same time in Russia, as follows from the local statistical service, potatoes in June fell in price by 4%.

The shortage of potatoes in the spring of this year became the cause of repeated proceedings at meetings with the participation of Alexander Lukashenko.
