They were seriously wounded near Bakhmut and are being treated in the United States.
Belarusian volunteers, who were seriously wounded near Bakhmut, need help. Now they are undergoing treatment in the United States.
In the course of the combat operation near Bakhmut in January 2023, two volunteers of the unit were seriously wounded during shelling. One of them is now undergoing complex rehabilitation in the United States. The Belarusian lost part of his radius bone, his nerves and muscles were damaged. He has undergone dozens of surgeries and still needs help. To restore the mobility of his hand, doctors even sacrificed one of his fingers, reports Kalinovsky's regiment.
Unfortunately, the foundation that organized his treatment in the United States can no longer provide support.
The second fighter was wounded by a grenade explosion in the spring of 2023. He had most of his intestines removed, is now being fed through special systems and is awaiting another complex surgery.
"Since the fighters have been in the States for a long time, the military unit, due to current legislation, cannot pay their salaries. Now they are facing an acute problem: they need money to continue their complicated and lengthy treatment and to support their families," the Kalinovsky regiment said in a statement.
The volunteers urgently need 500,000 hryvnia (about $12,000) to ensure the continuation of therapy, pay for future surgeries and support their families until early 2026. Without this support, life-saving treatment could be jeopardized.
"Any help is a chance for our twins to complete the difficult path of treatment and rehabilitation and return to a full life. They gave their health, protecting us, and now are in dire need of support," the regiment said.
