Umerov: Ukraine Offered Russia To Hold A Meeting Between Zelensky And Putin

The meeting could take place before the end of the summer.

Ukraine has offered the Russian delegation to hold a meeting of leaders with the participation of Turkish President Red Recep Erdogan and US President Donald Trump by the end of August. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov following a meeting of the delegations in Istanbul on July 23, Suspilne reported.

The Ukrainian delegation also declared readiness for a ceasefire, including strikes on critical and civilian infrastructure. However, Umerov did not voice the reaction of the Russian side.

Also, according to Umerov, the sides discussed further stages of the exchange of prisoners and civilians. The Russian side agreed to return people who have been in captivity for more than three years, including the seriously wounded and young.

In addition, more than 1,200 people will take part in a humanitarian exchange between Russia and Ukraine, Umerov said.
