In Donetsk, local residents have openly appealed to Putin to intervene in the water supply situation, which they call a "humanitarian and environmental disaster". It is noteworthy that the text of the appeal was first published by Russian military propagandists - those who usually gloss over any failures. Now even they cannot ignore the obvious. The authors of the appeal claim that since 2022 there is no stable water supply in Donetsk. The schedule is constantly deteriorating: now they promise to give water only once every three days. At the same time, it is so turbid and polluted that it is unsuitable for cooking or hygiene. Water does not reach the upper floors at all, and elderly people with their families are forced to carry it in buckets from the basements.

The cost of bottled water reaches 5 rubles per liter - twice as expensive as in occupied Mariupol or Rostov.

At the same time, the water pipeline from the Don, built as a "solution to the problem," covers only 6% of the city's needs. According to the residents, it is not the "water blockade" by Ukraine that is to blame for the situation, but corruption, inaction and deceit on the part of the Russian occupation administration.
