Poland Has Taken To The Skies With Fighter Jets

Because of Russia's strike on Ukraine.

The Polish Air Force has raised fighter jets due to a massive Russian air attack on Ukrainian cities.

A statement to this effect was issued early in the morning of July 21 by the Armed Forces Operational Command.

On the night of Monday, July 21, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukrainian regions. In particular, explosions were also heard in Ivano-Frankivsk.

So "in response to this aggressive activity" Poland "immediately started all procedures aimed at strengthening the protection of Polish airspace".

Polish and allied air forces raised fighter jets, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were put on high alert.
