Azerbaijan Summoned Russian Ambassador Again

Russian Ambassador Mikhail Yevdokimov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan for the second time in a week in connection with the conflict caused by forceful detention of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reports.

The Russian ambassador was protested to the Foreign Ministry in Baku "in connection with unfriendly actions and steps of the Russian side damaging relations between the two countries".

"Deep concern was again expressed in connection with the death of two Azerbaijanis and serious injuries of our other compatriots as a result of unlawful actions of Russian law enforcement agencies during raids on June 27 in Yekaterinburg," the report says.

Evdokimov was also pointed to signs of ethnic intolerance against Azerbaijanis in the Russian media.
