A Garbage Garbage Can Was Knocked Over On Pawel Latuszko In Warsaw

A young man ran up with a garbage garbage can to Pawel Latuszko and overturned it on him. The incident took place in the building of Warsaw University, where the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Studium Europy Wschodniej was taking place, an eyewitness told the Charter97.org website.

The attacker shouted in Polish: "Traitor! Murderer! He wanted to burn the opposition members."

Speaking from the podium, Latushko explained to the audience that "this was a provocation by the Lukashenko regime" and that the day before, the dictator had accused Latushko on Belarusian television of "wanting to gather all opposition members in one building and burn them" after the August 2020 elections and then "become the sole leader of the opposition."

The head of NAU said that at that moment he was the director of the state theater named after Yanka Kupala and "had nothing to do with the opposition", he had no plans to burn anyone.

According to various sources, the garbage garbage can was overturned on Latushko by Evgeny Kazantsev, who had previously been a trainee at the University of Warsaw.

The attack on Latushko caused outrage among the crowd.
