Because of the delay in arms shipments.
In connection with the halt in deliveries of key weapons from the United States, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) summoned the U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Ukraine John Ginkel.
As the Ukrainian MFA press service reports, the meeting with Ginkel was held by Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa. The key topic of the conversation with the American diplomat was the US military assistance and defense cooperation between the two states against the background of escalation of aggression and terror against Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
The report notes that Betsa expressed gratitude to the US for the support provided and stressed the critical importance of continuing deliveries of already allocated defense packages, with a special emphasis on strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
"Any delay or procrastination in supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities will only encourage the aggressor to continue war and terror rather than seek peace," the press service revealed details of the conversation.
The deputy minister also recalled that Russia not only rejects a complete and unconditional ceasefire, but also continues to intensify air terror against Ukrainian cities and attacks on the battlefield.
"Ukraine supports U.S. efforts on the need to immediately stop the killing and end the war and emphasizes the need to force Russia to make peace. In these circumstances, it is critical to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and increase coordinated transatlantic pressure on the aggressor," the report said.
Betz and Hinkel discussed consultations on defense supplies, which are ongoing now at all levels, and further contacts between Ukraine and the United States, which will contribute to finding mutually beneficial solutions to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and increase pressure on Russia to advance peace efforts.
