Foreign Ministry: Visa-free Travel With Laos Not Yet Valid

Yesterday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported on the signing of the agreement on visa abolition.

During the visit of Foreign Minister of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov to Laos on July 17, an intergovernmental agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of national passports of both countries was signed. But there is no hurry to go there, the Foreign Ministry explained.

The ministry emphasized that the signing of the document does not mean its immediate entry into force. In order for the visa-free visa to work, it is necessary to carry out a number of internal procedures, including ratification of the agreement. It will take some time.

Belarusians were advised to take this fact into account when planning trips to Laos and follow the official information on the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The date when the agreement will enter into force will be announced additionally.
