Will China Refuse To Buy Russian Oil Like India?

Because of the threat of secondary U.S. sanctions.

India, Brazil and Turkey may refuse to buy Russian oil because of the threat of secondary US sanctions. But China will not do this and will not go for a rupture of economic relations, as it is already too strongly connected with Russia.

According to RBC-Ukraine, historian and diplomat Roman Bessmertny.

The expert explained that all talks about the possibility of rupturing relations between China and Russia can be considered far-fetched. Moscow has already become Beijing's satellite.

"The fact is that at present, within the BRICS, or rather, the part of BRICS called the "axis of evil", there is an internal system: a development bank and a certain currency that can work as a settlement currency. So it is clear that in this respect China will not go for a break in relations. It will work as long as possible, because even in the current situation it is profitable," he explained.

Bessmertny reminded that not so long ago Beijing and Washington were able to settle customs and tariff relations. Therefore, it is unlikely that even after 50 days, U.S. President Donald Trump will go to impose duties against China for buying Russian oil.

"And it's no coincidence that 50 days, it's no coincidence that the Senate and the decision-making is postponed to the fall. Well, in case China "goes arap" and tries somehow to realize including its further imperial plans, it is obvious that the U.S. will have this tool in reserve. But based on the current situation, it is quite difficult to predict that Trump will take such steps," the expert summarized.
