When Zelensky May Meet With Xi Jinping

China will not back down from its policy of supporting Russia. Therefore, a meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Chinese leader Si Jinping before the war is settled is probably impossible.

This RBC-Ukraine was stated by historian and diplomat Roman Bessmertny.

- Until the moment when there is not at least some decision here (on ending the war in Ukraine - ed.), this meeting will not take place. Xi Jinping is not a man who will agree to such a meeting just for the sake of meeting," the expert said.

He added that the Chinese authorities are likely to continue financial, military-political and trade assistance to Russia. In particular, it consists of supplies of dual technologies, weapons components, semiconductors, etc.

Bessmertny said that no matter how much China declares its non-involvement in the Russian military-industrial complex, Ukraine has enough evidence that China is "involved" in the production of Russian ballistics and drones. A similar situation is likely with some European countries.

- If there is no progress in this regard, or an agreed, worked out solution, the meeting will not take place, because once again to point out that Chinese citizens are fighting as part of Russian troops, that China supplies weapons - everyone understands perfectly well that Xi Jinping will not carve himself up, - the expert pointed out.

By the way, the other day the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that Xi Jinping should meet with Zelensky against the background of China's deepening support for Russia.
