Russia Changes Entry Rules For Foreigners: What Should Belarusians Expect?

  • 30.06.2025, 13:44

The changes began to be enacted on June 30.

The Russian Federation from June 30 began introducing changes to entry rules that affect foreigners, reports "The Point"

It is noted that the new conditions will apply at all checkpoints across the Russian border.

This is being conducted as part of an experiment that will last until mid-summer 2026.

It is known that the new entry rules apply to foreigners who plan to visit the Russian Federation without a visa.

From June 30, 2025, such travelers must undergo the registration procedure in the Unified System of Identification and Authentication and no later than 72 hours before the planned entry into the country to provide an electronic application for entry into Russia using the ruID mobile application (or on the Gosuslugi site).

It is important to specify that in emergency cases the deadline will be different - no later than 4 hours in advance.

There you will need to indicate the purpose of the trip, the planned period of stay in Russia, the regions where you intend to go, as well as specify the data of children, if they are traveling with you.

After crossing the border and confirming the account at Gosuslugi, the application will generate a QR code, which can be presented along with an identity document.

What Belarusians need to know

The new rules of entry for foreigners will operate for a year in the framework of the experiment.

After its results, a decision will be made to introduce this system on a widespread basis. However, there are already exceptions to the rules. It is known that these new entry conditions will not apply to foreign diplomats, children under 6 years old and citizens of Belarus.
