Russia is going to “evacuate” residents of the Kursk region via Belarus. This was reported by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova. According to her information, these Russians are currently in the Ukrainian city of Sumy.
“There is an agreement with the Red Cross and the Ukrainian side that they will be evacuated via Belarus to Russia,” TASS quotes Moskalkova as saying.
Since the summer of 2024, Ukraine has controlled part of the territory of the Kursk region of Russia (including the regional center of Sudzha). There are still civilians there who are caught in Russian shelling.
