An extreme heat wave not typical for December is coming to Europe. Among other things, it will lead to the melting of snow in the mountains. Warmth will be in the coming days in Belarus, writes the website of the TV channel "Belsat".
As noted by the TV channel @nadvorie, in the coming days - December 8-15 - Europe will be covered by the historic December heat wave. The temperature will exceed the usual values by 3-6°C or even by 10-15°C.
The exceptionally warm air will cross Europe from southwest to northeast with temperatures above +10°C and even above +15°C. The heat will even reach Scandinavia.
"A hundred, if not a thousand, reports of record-breaking temperatures are expected from across the continent. Only Italy will not see warmth," the channel's authors note.
Northern Spain will be around +20°C. The Canary Islands will be between +20 and +25°C and the sky will be overcast due to the arrival of dust from the Sahara. This spring weather in mid-December will lead to snow melt in the mountains.
What about Belarus?
As for Belarus, according to the Belgidromet, on Saturday, December 6, the weather in Belarus will be determined by an area of increased atmospheric pressure and a warm air mass. It will be cloudy, with clearings during the day. At night, there will be light rains in some places across the country, while in the afternoon - mostly without precipitation. Mild fog is expected in some areas. The wind is moderate. The minimum night temperature is -1...+5°C, while the maximum daytime temperature is +1...+7°C.
On Sunday, December 7, the weather in Belarus will be affected by moist air masses from Ukraine. It will be cloudy at night with clearing. There will be light precipitation at night in places in southeastern Belarus, while in the afternoon - short-term precipitation (wet snow, rain) in most parts of the territory. In some areas, fog and ice will form in some areas. The wind is moderate. The minimum night temperature is -4...+2°C, while the maximum daytime temperature is -2...+4°C.
On Monday, December 8, the weather in Belarus will be determined by unstable air masses and atmospheric fronts from Poland. It will be cloudy. There will be precipitation (rain, wet snow) in most parts of the country. In some areas, fog and ice are expected, with icy roads. The wind is moderate, gusty in places during the day. The minimum nighttime air temperature is -4...+3°C, the maximum daytime temperature is -1...+6°C.
