What Was Hidden About Lukashenko's Trip To Oman?

  • 6.12.2025, 8:43

The dictator is selling air again.

Lukashenko's press service revealed the chief and told what he was doing in Oman. The latter worked according to the familiar scheme - "divorced" partners for money, writes "Salidarnasts".

If you read the list of topics discussed by the Belarusian ruler with the president of the Omani investment agency Abdulsalam al-Murshidi, there is some bewilderment.

The key topics of the conversation are cited by Pool One:

The joint Belarusian-Omani investment fund in Minsk - to finance projects in Belarus.

The construction of a pulp and paperboard mill in Belarus.

Oman logistics hub for Belarusian goods and development of the North-South route.

Investments in the agro-industrial complex of Belarus with food supplies to Oman and the region; discussion of Omani seafood exports to Belarus.

Tourist cluster: Oman as a platform for joint projects; investments in tourist facilities of Belarus.

Tripartite project: creation of a joint production of complex fertilizers with Algeria.

And then a logical question arises: does Oman have nowhere else to put its money? Of course, it has as much money as a fool has wrappers, but it is unlikely that the sheikhs of Oman sleep and see how to invest in "tourist objects of Belarus" or build another unprofitable pulp and paper mill here.

Lukashenko, of course, is a vivacious speaker, but something suggests that even his eloquence would not be enough to convince them of the economic attractiveness of the above-mentioned projects. Or did the Omani leadership get the idea to turn Pripyat back?

And what was offered by our "chief businessman" to fuel mutual interest seems to have remained behind the scenes.

Of what Lukashenko publicly promised his Omani partners as a bonus, there was only a promise to increase the tourist flow at the expense of Belarusians:

- We are ready to expand travels of our people here. Not only to the Emirates, other countries, but also to Oman. There is a fabulous nature, open ocean here. I'm sure that our people will be happy to use this tourist destination," said the governor.

- However, he did not specify that not all Belarusians have the same tourist potential as the current voyager.
