Belarusians In Poland Rank Second Among Foreigners In Terms Of Mortgage Loans

The numbers are impressive.

Foreign citizens are increasingly taking bank loans in Poland, and usually for larger sums than Poles. Согласно изданию Puls Biznesu, с января по конец октября банки выдали им кредитов на 7,65 миллиарда злотых (1,81 миллиарда евро) только в сегменте ипотеки, Slavomir Zybek of the Credit Information Bureau.

This year alone, banks have granted loans to foreigners for 11.63 billion PLN: 7.65 billion - mortgages (+42% y/y), 2.57 billion - consumer loans (+46%), 1.42 billion - other (+57%).

The average mortgage amount for a foreigner is 513 thousand PLN, while for a Pole - 449 thousand PLN. The biggest loans are received by Indians, while among Belarusians the average mortgage loan is about 600 thousand zlotys. This surprises analysts, as a significant part of foreign workers are Ukrainians, who more often perform less paid work.

In Poland, about 1.1 million foreigners are now working - 5.5% more than last year. There are already 321 thousand foreign borrowers in the databases of the Credit Information Bureau: 227 thousand Ukrainians, 31 thousand Belarusians and 63 thousand representatives of other countries.
