Lithuanian Prime Minister: Emergency Situation Will Be Introduced In The Country

As the flow of weather probes with contraband continues to disrupt the work of Vilnius Airport, the government will declare an emergency next week, Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė said, according to Delfi.lt.

"The legal framework and documents for the emergency are being developed. (...) Specialists have decided that the form of the emergency situation will be optimal for today, and I am listening to their opinion, so we will declare (the emergency situation) next week," I. Ruginenė told reporters. "If the situation changes, we do not rule out the possibility of deepening it," she emphasized.

At the same time, assessing Friday's meeting with the Seimas faction leaders, the prime minister assured that it was useful. According to her, the parliamentarians were active and businesslike when discussing measures to combat the ongoing balloon crisis.

Despite the fact that we may have different opinions in the public space, we really saw a common approach at the meeting today," I. Ruginenė told journalists after the government meeting.

The leaders of the opposition Conservatives, Liberals, Democrats "In the Name of Lithuania" and the head of the Mixed Group of Seimas deputies took part in the conversation with the Prime Minister.

The chairman of the conservatives Laurynas Kasciunas assured after the meeting that if Lithuania fails to achieve results in solving the balloon crisis in cooperation with the United States, it is necessary to undertake a concrete plan, which the politician called "Lukashenko's wishes".
