Vilnius should be ready to strike back and raise the price.

Lithuanian MP Laurynas Kasciunas believes that Lithuania should use both "stick" and "carrot" against official Minsk in connection with hybrid attacks. And if the situation does not change, offers a plan "Hello Lukashenko". About it writes LRT.

Lithuanian Seimas deputies met with Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė on December 5, where they presented the head of the government with proposals to prevent the crisis that has been going on for months due to smuggling delivered by weather probes from Belarus.

According to Laurynas Kasciunas, chairman of the Union of Fatherland - Lithuanian Christian Democrats, Lithuania should first of all consider the possibility of resolving the crisis with Belarus with the help of the United States.

"First of all, speaking about the political diplomatic aspect, we should use both "stick" and "carrot". "The 'stick' is, without a doubt, the European Union sanctions, their strengthening and deepening. This is not an easy task, as many EU countries are now focused on the actions of the Americans," he said, emphasizing the changing U.S. approach to Minsk.

Besides diplomatic efforts, Kasciunas emphasized that Lithuania should determine a clear timeframe, during which changes in the situation with Belarus can be expected. And if the situation does not change, Vilnius should be ready for a separate response plan. The politician figuratively calls it "Hello Lukashenko."

"If the American way does not yield results, the state should be ready for a separate plan. I call it 'Hello Lukashenko,' where we are ready to take certain decisions that could backfire and raise the price," the deputy said.

The details of the plan, however, he did not disclose to journalists.
