More Than 84 Thousand Packs Of Smuggled Belarusian Cigarettes Intercepted In Lithuania

Border guards raided several parts of the country.

Lithuanian border guards raided several areas of the country and found more than 84 thousand packs of smuggled Belarusian cigarettes. This is reported by the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.

In Mazeiki district, as a result of searches, border guards found more than 23.5 thousand packs of cigarettes with and without Belarusian excise stamps. Among them were cigarettes Queen Menthol and NZ Gold, Marlboro Gold Original, Marlboro, Winston Blue and Marlboro Gold. Two people, both Lithuanian residents, and two vehicles were detained.

An additional six people and four vehicles were detained in Vilnius and Šalčininka districts. During searches in vehicles and residential premises, 57 thousand packs of cigarettes with Belarusian stamps and almost 30 thousand euros in cash were found.

In Varena district, two local residents were detained. In their car border guards found 3,560 packs of Minsk Capital QS and NZ Gold cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps. The value of this batch of cigarettes, including all taxes payable in Lithuania, is 18,512 euros.

An investigation is underway against all detainees.
