The president of the United States doesn't know what the Kremlin is doing.
American leader Donald Trump first commented on the talks of the US delegation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, which took place in Moscow. According to him, the meeting was successful.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the White House broadcast.
Trump said U.S. negotiators, his special envoy Steve Whitkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner had a pretty good meeting with Putin.
"I don't know what the Kremlin is doing. I can tell you that they had a pretty good meeting with President Putin," the White House chief said.
He also noted that the Russian dictator would like to end the war - at least that was the impression his representatives had.
"He would like to end the war - that was their impression. How true that is, you know, but their impression was that he would like the war to end. I think he would like to go back to a more normal life," the US president said.
Trump emphasized that Putin would like to trade with the United States instead of losing thousands of soldiers every week, which is impossible if the war continues.
"I think he would like to trade with the United States of America, frankly, instead of losing thousands of soldiers every week. But their impression was very clear: He would like to make a deal. We'll see what happens," the White House chief said.
