Lukashenko: If Putin Is Removed, Everything Will Be Different

The dictator stated that the West understands this.
Alexander Lukashenko told how in 2023 he allegedly dissuaded Russian ruler Vladimir Putin from traveling to the BRICS summit in South Africa and warned him of the "danger of an assassination attempt."
- Tonight I thought about that... I remembered a conversation with Putin. I think it was before the [BRICS summit] in South Africa. He was packing his suitcases. I said, "Where are you going?" - "Don't you know? We have BRICS." I said, "Are you going to go there?" Such a friendly, brotherly conversation. To my older brother: "Are you going to go there?" - "Well, they asked me to go there. They're waiting for me there." I said: "What are you doing! There's a war going on!" - "Well, they're not so crazy anymore, they're not that crazy." I said: "And you think everyone there is sane? There's nothing to go there!" Lavrov flew then. Maybe not because I pressed him. But I told him my opinion," said Lukashenko.
According to him, it "wasn't just such a, you know, village conversation":
- Our intelligence (they're good, they've been working well lately) informed us. At the level of conversations, gossip from the West, that a terrorist act against the Russian president is being prepared. And I often say to him: "Well, there is a war going on, so don't fly there. If someone needs to go there, they will come to you."
Then he called us to Peter. His closest friends flew there. Others will fly there. Xi Jinping will come, and people will come from Iran and other countries. But we have to be careful. You can't trust these people," said Lukashenko.
Lukashenko said he "was right" when he "warned and cautioned" the Russian dictator:
- It's clear that all of them in the West understand that if Putin is removed, everything will be different. This must be taken seriously. I am telling about it for the first time today, because one should not be careless. They deceived, and this he admits, all the time," he said.
