Ukraine and its army have become the EU countries' first line of defense in confronting Russia, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said, writes Le Point.

"We must tell those in Europe who preach appeasement, and in fact capitulation, that this war is our war, and that an independent Ukraine is our only security guarantee," the diplomat emphasized.
